What is a Singapore Employment Pass?
The Singapore Employment Pass2 (EP) is a work visa in Singapore. It is for skilled professionals who want to work in Singapore. They include managers, executives, and specialists. Entrepreneurs who’ve set up a company in Singapore can also apply for it. This allows them to move to Singapore to manage their business.
There’s no fixed limit on the number of EPs issued. We offer a in-depth analysis of your chances of getting an EP approval in your application.
Who qualifies for Employment Pass?
- Obtained a job offer in Singapore.
- Work in a managerial, executive or specialized job.
- Earn a fixed monthly salary of at least SGD $5000
- Have acceptable qualifications, usually a good university degree, professional qualifications or specialize skill.
What documents do you need to prepare?
To apply for an Employment Pass, you’ll need:
- A completed Employment Pass Application Form signed by your employer.
- A copy of your passport’s personal page.
- Your resume, which should list your work experience.
- The latest business profile from ACRA (Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority).
- A detailed job description of the position you’re applying for.
- Your educational certificates.
If you’re from:
- India: You must provide transcripts and marksheets.
- China: You need verification proof for diplomas and higher qualifications. Education certificates certified by a notary public are not accepted as proof. You also need to provide a detailed description of your employing company. Specifically its services/products and its business plan.

FAQs about the S Pass
What is a S Pass?
The S Pass3 is a work visa for mid-level skilled workers in Singapore. Evaluation of the application is using a point system. The factors are education qualifications, skills, salary, job type and work experience.
Dependency Ratio Ceiling (DRC) is the main criterion. That determines the actual number of S Pass holders a company can hire.
For Service Sector Only
Year 2020: 7 Local Employee : 1 SP Holder
Year 2021: 9 Local Employee : 1 SP Holder

Who qualifies for S Pass?
- Earn a fixed monthly salary of S$3150 or more:
- Older and experienced applicants are eligible to higher salaries. Based on their skills and experience.
- Hold a diploma or technical/specialist qualifications:
- For China applicants please take note. Authenticate your qualifications through channels like the China Higher Education Student Information. And Career Center or China Academic Degrees & Graduate Education Information and Dataflow.
- Have relevant work experience and skills.

What is a Work Permit?
The Work Permit4 (WP) is provided to semi-skilled employees. They usually intend to work in Singapore’s sought-after sectors. They include construction, manufacturing, marine shipyard, process or services sector.
What are the conditions for a foreign worker to be eligible for a Work Permit?( For Service Sector)
You can only hire foreign workers who meet the conditions. They are source countries , age when applying and longest period of employment.
